If you have been told your scar can completely dissappear after only 1 session. That might just be the case, but realistically expect to have multiple sessions when it comes to Skin Camouflage Tattoo. If you have a small light scar, or a few thin light stretch marks.. the possibility is there for you to be happy with the results after one session. Typically would you still prefer a touch up session even if you are happy with the results - Yes! There is normally always a little blending, a few stretch marks that are still slightly visible. Etc.
NOW if you have anything more than that you can pretty much bet multiple sessions will be required.
Curious why multiple sessions are typically needed for a skin camouflage treatment?
Hopefully, we can answer those questions for you here!
Scars no matter big or small are still a scar. The skin is unpredictable... to a point that is. Some of you may have already tried other things to help; Laser treatments, oils, creams, lightening treatments, injections, etc. If you have you would know all those those treatments also require multiple sessions. Skin Camouflage is no different. Unlike, Laser treatments we have more control when it comes to the Skin Camouflage "Nude Tattoo" process. First we are not "burning" your skin. We can control the speed, depth, and other factors which allow us to read your skin and make adjustments where needed.
ANOTHER benefit of skin camouflage from what everyone tells us that separates us from laser (I've never personally had laser done on me before, so this part is coming from all the clients we see that have previously had laser treatments) is TIME & PAIN. We have had clients come to us after 2, 5, 8, 18, even 20+ laser sessions and the treatment is no where complete.
They were tired of all the money they were spending on it with little results.
Many came in with scarring that they didn't have in the first place. The laser treatments created scarring.
PAIN!! Every single person we have had in our studio says how painful it is, and how they leave in tears .
After a session with us... many clients look foward to coming back for their next session. Some clients feel minimal pain. But many feel no pain and enjoy coming in to relax and take a break from the outside world. This might sound crazy, but our clients really do enjoy coming in to see us ♡♡
I RAMBLED.. SORRY!
let's get back on track to why multiple sessions are typically required.
Because Scar tissue differs from person to person. Many factors come into play when it comes to how many sessions you will need, and how your healing process will go. below we will go through some of the factors that come into play.
COLOR AND SIZE OF SCAR
Is your scar lighter or darker(hyperpigmentation) than your skin tone? This is important for several reasons. Working on darker scars requires additional education and training, along with ongoing research to give you the best outcome you can have! It's much easier to make a light scar darker to match your skin tone doing the opposite requires additional treatments of lightening through a similar process.
The size & width of scar(s) may require pretreatment (Inkless) before camouflage can begin. this is prep the skin and also helps heal it naturally which can shrink and reduce the original size of the scar.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Known or unknown medical conditions can slow down the healing process or we may have to take extra precautions when treating the scars. This may require shorter sessions and/or just taking a shallower approach with our needle depth which may require additional sessions. This also applies to our AGE.. the older we get the thinner our skin is and we may need to be a little more gentle to treat the skin properly
IN A NUTSHELL... everyone's skin is different so there is absolutely no way to determine the exact number of sessions a person will need to achieve their desired results.. after the first session and seeing how your body responds we can typically get a better idea. Just remember so many factors come in to play along with how you care for you body after your sessions. AFTERCARE is so important and plays a major role in the healing stage!
